Mount Moriah Christians

Mount Moriah ChristianityGenesis 22:2
“And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”

One of the most convicting stories in the Scriptures is the story of Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son at God’s command. God knew that Isaac was Abraham’s lifetime dream, yet He asked him to give his only son for a burnt offering. The amazing part of this story is that Abraham was willing to give his son, which only proved his love for God and trust in Him.

The need of a Mount Moriah in a Christian’s life is the key to getting God to trust us so He can bless us. It is here in this mount where Abraham proved to God that there was nothing he owned that He could not have, including his only son. The greatest trust a Christian will ever have is when they turn everything they have over to God and trust Him with it. This act proves your love and trust in God. When you say, “God, there is nothing I own that you cannot have,” and give everything to Him and trust Him to run it, you have then given total trust over to Him. A Mount Moriah experience is what separates great Christian’s from the average.

Christian, what is the line that God cannot cross? Where is the line that if God asked you to give Him something that you think He has gone too far? You will never realize God’s blessings to their fullest until you have a Mount Moriah experience and hand everything you have over to Him for His purpose. Three areas will become every Christian’s Mount Moriah that show your trust of God.

Your finances are the first Mount Moriah you will face. How much of your finances God can have is a determining factor of how much He will bless you financially. If God can’t have all of your finances, He will not be able to trust you with more. When God asks you to give by faith a certain amount, and you withhold it, He then understands that He cannot trust you with money.

Your dreams are the second Mount Moriah you will face. If God asked you to quit your job and serve Him full time, would you be willing to do it? There will come a point in your life when you will have to make a determination between making money, your dreams, and serving the LORD. What you do when you face this Mount Moriah will determine how much He uses you.

Spring-CreekBC_WatfordYour children are the third Mount Moriah you will face. Many Christians fail when they face this Mount Moriah. I have seen Christians give their finances and life to serve the LORD, but when He wants to call their children to serve Him, they won’t allow this to happen. Friend, your children belong to God, and you have no right to stop them from serving Him full time. You can see God bless your heritage by giving your children to God, or you can experience heartache by withholding them from Him.

You must ask yourself if there is anything in your possession that you have not given to God. Remember, everything is already God’s, but He wants to see if you are willing to give Him everything and trust Him to run it. God can see that He truly has your heart when there is NOTHING that you are not willing to give to Him if He asks for it.
